During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when hospitals across the country faced critical shortages of protective gear, Rocky took meaningful action through his community outreach efforts. 

Recognizing that maternity wards were especially vulnerable, he personally donated masks and PPE to expectant mothers and frontline medical staff. At a time when even essential workers were left unprotected, Rocky filled the gap—not for attention, but out of urgency, compassion, and an unwavering belief in community care when leadership fell short. 

His commitment to philanthropy extended beyond immediate needs, reflecting his dedication to veteran support and youth mentoring, ensuring that those in need received the help they deserved.

Years before discovering that his youngest daughter would be diagnosed with autism, Rocky served as the host for an Autism Speaks event at the foot of the Washington Monument, successfully helping raise over $500,000 in under six hours. 

At that time, Rocky believed deeply in philanthropy and community outreach, supporting causes even when they didn’t touch him personally. 

This experience would later come full circle, deepening his commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and creating spaces of understanding for families navigating the autism journey, while also reflecting his dedication to veteran support and youth mentoring.

Invited to join high-profile media personalities at the Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School Celebrity Waiters Fundraiser, Rocky initially felt like the outsider in the room. 

However, that quickly changed as colleagues from across the DC media scene greeted him with admiration—many expressing how much they appreciated his radio and TV work, and more importantly, how authentic he remained both on and off the mic. 

While Rocky has never been driven by validation, that night served as a reminder of the power of authenticity in community outreach and philanthropy. He walked in with humility—and left affirmed, knowing that being real not only resonates with audiences but also earns the respect of peers, which is vital in his efforts for veteran support and youth mentoring.

A collective of DC area media professionals, Rocky is always willing to lend his voice and platform to raise critical funds and awareness for men’s breast cancer research. 

This initiative not only emphasizes community outreach but also embodies a spirit of philanthropy, reminding communities that men’s health matters too. 

Furthermore, it integrates veteran support and youth mentoring, showcasing a commitment to diverse health issues and community well-being.

Rocky was handpicked to serve as the host for MLB pitcher Gio Gonzalez’s foundation, an initiative dedicated to philanthropy through raising funds for youth baseball camps and community outreach. 

Rocky’s involvement highlights the foundation’s impact — using his platform to connect families, supporters, and athletes around the shared goal of creating access and opportunity for underserved youth through sport, including vital youth mentoring and veteran support.

Rocky was honored to be invited to participate in the Wounded Warriors Softball Game at Nationals Park — joining a lineup of high-profile celebrities and athletes in support of America’s heroes. 

This powerful event focused on community outreach and veteran support, celebrating resilience, sacrifice, and unity while using sport as a bridge between military service members and the communities they protect. 

For Rocky, it wasn’t just about the game — it was about standing with those who’ve given everything and promoting philanthropy through youth mentoring.

Yearly, Rocky dedicates his time and leadership to the Big Train Celebrity Classic — an annual charity game aimed at community outreach and raising funds to build and maintain baseball fields in underserved communities. 

Selected to coach the Media Team against a roster of pro athletes from the Washington, DC area, Rocky not only brings strategic insight to the field, but also a sense of purpose tied to his commitment to philanthropy. 

His annual role as coach transcends baseball; it reflects the respect he commands among his peers and showcases his proven ability to lead others with vision, integrity, and a focus on youth mentoring and veteran support.

Driving Support for Army Veterans & Families.

Each year, Rocky is honored to be invited by a retired U.S. Army Lt. Colonel to participate in the annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Golf Tournament. 

As a member of a featured guest foursome, Rocky helps raise vital funds through community outreach efforts aimed at supporting Army veterans and families facing hardship. 

His continued involvement in this prestigious event reflects the trust and respect he’s earned among leaders in service and philanthropy — and his unwavering commitment to giving back where it matters most, including initiatives in youth mentoring.

Rocky co-hosted The Kevin and Rock Dodgeball Tournament as a high-energy, community-driven fundraiser that supports local breast cancer survivors. 

This event exemplified effective community outreach, contrasting with larger organizations where donations often get lost in overhead. 

Here, the focus was on philanthropy with a direct, visible impact — ensuring that funds went straight to those who needed it most.
